Purpose of Information Collected:
Myefiletax.Com collects information from this web site for the sole purpose of running a business to e-file your federal & state income tax. We only collect and use information necessary for us to complete and file your tax returns, bill for services, and to maintain the security of our site.
Information Sharing:
We share the information you provide with the Internal Revenue Service. We send credit card information to our credit card processor for the purpose of processing your transaction.
We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site
Security of Private Information:
Our site uses SSL encryption using an Equifax security certificate to protect sensitive information online. We do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users' information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information.
Data are transmitted to the IRS using a direct phone based connection to IRS computers, and those data do not pass through any public routers.
Any personal and private information that is sent to you by email will not compromise your privacy in any way. For example, we will transmit only the last 4 digits of your social security number with any status emails.
We do not store your credit card information in our database. We transmit it securely to our credit card processor but do not store the number. Thus, there is no likelihood of compromising your credit card information.
EMail Policies:
After you register, we may periodically contact you using your email address or phone number to communicate with you about your return and our services geared toward submitting that return. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to any other individuals or organizations. Because we must have a way to contact you about your tax return, we do not allow you to use our service and opt out. If you do not file an accepted return, however, you can request that we delete all information about you from our database.
If in the future we have promotional emails we will update our statement and provide our customers with a choice to received secondary communications.
Log Files:
We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. As an IRS requirement, your IP address and email address are linked and shared with the IRS as personal information. Other log information is kept for security reasons, however, those data are only used to prevent or discover a hacker attack, and are not used for any other purpose.
Cookies:
We may use session ID cookies. These bits of text are temporarily set on your machine. These would be used to make it easier for you to navigate our site, for example to not have to log-in repeatedly. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser.
Access to Personally Identifiable Information:
If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may update your information, until it is accepted by the IRS. At which point no further changes can be made directly to your e-filed tax return. Archival data is not modifiable. As mentioned above it is possible to delete your information, unless your return has been accepted by the IRS.

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
